Gold Rush Discovery

I holler about Gold Rush

About me

I’m just a guy who likes watching Gold Rush on Discovery Channel.

Not only am I interested in the show… I have carefully examined the psychology of each member on the show (at least in my own mind).

I would like to believe that I have a unique perspective when commenting on the characters in the show.

I can only hope that you will share your ideas and thoughts with me. I truly believe that this is the most important reality show in modern history.

Really Mate you need to go and get a life, this is the biggest piece of shit on TV I have been in the mining game in Australia for years and we don’t do shit like that… for a start I did not see any one using a detector no test sampling, our last set up was twice the size of that crap your clowns were using, all you were doing was using scripted supposed to be real life situations and it comes across as that pathetic doco making. Gloryhole my arse. Placer mining is not big nugget mining. And what sort of moron takes his wife and kids out to an area like that, it’s just for dramatic effect. AND WHATS WITH THIS GOD CRAP, PRAYING ALL THE TIME THAT WORKED A TREAT. WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT Its stands out like dog balls, We work old mine sites over here, because in the old days a mine would shut down if tt produced under 2 pennyweight to the ton, there is 20 pennyweight to an ounce of gold, I see in gold rush Alaska they ran 1000 yd for 4 ¼ ounces that works out to 1 pennyweight to 11.7 tons not very rich ground, we at the moment are working on 1.2pennyweight to the yard .that is in Western Australia,.

My father had the money to move to Australia in the 1960’s. Him and his cousin dreamed of moving there and starting a cattle ranch. They never did it. He’s 69 and still talks about it now. I can only imagine how different my life would have been. God bless those of you in Australia. My thoughts are with you.

Australia is a great place but like every where it has its good points and its bad.We had serious storms over here last week, nearly blew our camp apart. Then it decided to drop 2 inches of rain on us. but had a good day today pulled 12 1/4 oz between 5 of us.

It’s fake. Do you think this mystery dude shooting birds in his wheel chair is actually going to by-pass the hundreds of other legit offers for his land to sign it over to this fat dude with a chin beard? Not in the real world.

I think the Hoffman’s are true and love God. If they don’t it’s not our business. I like the Hoffman’s. Still not sure if they know what they are doing. Think they will do fine with Dave.
Lot’s of this show ticks me off. Parker is mining and makes lot’s of mistakes. Parker got pissed off at Gene, (Jean) for taking 4 days to get the wash plant running. Gene found that big red had holes at the base and welded up the holes which could be why Parker is only getting $5-6 dollars worth of pay dirt.

The show is a combination of desperate religious retards preying (not praying) on the publics fanciful notion surrounding the word GOLD. Combined with the Equipment suppliers subliminal advertising drive in a pathetic effort to sell more machines into an industry that has been brought to its knees worldwide by the Chinese.

There is no way on this planet that the revenue generated from gold production would support the cost of the equipment used to dig and process the material in such a short working season with that amount of staff and never once is there a mention of government taxes-local taxes-insurance-medical and employee contributions.
Not to mention the biggest one of all and that is the cost to re habilitate the land they are destroying in the process.

Even in Africa the rehabilitation deposit required by the EPA and Mining Ministries usually stops most operations before they start.

All of the operations on the show would be closed down by safety officers in the real world of mining.

There is no doubt that the show has an element of entertainment value to anyone who knows nothing about the industry- and I say good luck to them all if they can keep the con rolling.

I would love to have Turpin and Gene on my team both those guys would be worth their weight in GOLD on a real operation.

The rest of them you can keep- there is zero room in that game for emotion-god-mammoth tusk myths or having to use equipment because it was given by a supplier for advertising reasons and not whether it will do the job.

How they have not had a fatality on the show by now is the biggest mystery.
